I am losing weight but i am not on a diet?
I am 52 years old, i have a heart condition, arthritis, am a diabetic, and have a cripling spinal condition. I take approx 40 tablets a day for my conditions. I cannot exersise due to my disabilites. The thing is i am a vegetarian, i dont eat sweets etc but i am overweight. The last few months i have started to lose weight, i am not on a diet, it started to come off at around a few kilo’s every month, but now it is at 2-4 kilo’s per week. I am heavy at 24 stone, and 6 ft 2 inches high. I know i am fat, but this weight loss is increasing, my clothes are falling off me now, my legs are like pins ! the flesh is starting to sag in all the wrong places. The worry is that it is coming off too quick, i am not dieting, i feel terrible with my illnesses anyway, but i now cant sleep, have very high rate of angina, i have no strength, it is worrying me. I have just had a lovelly xmas, ate all the wrong things loads of sweet stuff, cakes, deserts, loads of beer and wine and have now lost a further 6 kilos in the last week, have also picked up a terrible ailment called "shingles" on my back, basically life is worring me now, does anyone have any idea what is going on with me?. I have been to the doctor, but they are only concerned about the hiogh level of angina, they dont see my worry about the rapid weight loss and constant feeling of extreme unwellness(if there is such a word)
My mom (40 yrs old) prescribed Nitroglycerin and Atenolol? Concern?
My mom (40 yrs old) prescribed Nitroglycerin and Atenolol? Concern?
Okay. So my mom has high blood pressure and she has been on atenolol for some time now.
Just recently, she has had heart palpatations (or when she feels sudden shaking in her chest, i think thats what its called)
Well, her doctor prescribed Nitrogylcerin for this. Now, I’m kinda worried since both drugs actually treat the same problem. Should I be concerned? Should she continue with the high blood pressure mediciation, the nitroglycerin, or both?
FYI, she doesnt have angina, no history of heart disease in her parents. She has asthma. Also, her blood perssure is currently low. Shes also taking iron tablets cause she has low levels of oxygen in her blood.
Regular Heart Checkup – Things to do?
A couple of relatives have had angina/heart attacks in recent past and it was later learned through angiogram that they had a huge portion of arteries blocked.
Now, I am looking to perform a regular heart checkup for my parents that could give me an idea of their health. What all tests do you suggest? I earlier thought angiogram could be a good test, but then realized it is not just expensive (for a regular checkup), but can also cause complications.
HELP: PEOPLE WITH DIABETES TYPE 1, EPILEPSY, CELIAC DISEASE, CANCER, ANGINA, HAD A HEART ATTACK, OR AN EPISODE?
Hey, I need help. Please read this, its really helpful. I’m writing a book and could use help from people who have been diagnosed with any of these diseases/conditions.
(If you help me, please leave your name and I may put a "with thanks" message at the end of the book)
I would like to know what drugs people with Epilepsy take. What affects they have. And what happens in a seizure. How often they take their medication. And the main causes of Epilepsy (optional)
I would like to know what drugs people with Cancer take. What types of drugs are assigned with which cancer. Side affects. How long intervals between Chemo/Radiation etc. are.
For people with diabetes. Drugs taken and how often.
People with Celiac disease. What foods are able to be eaten and are there any acceptions with gluten intolerence. Also, if you’re american or if anyone knows American groceries that are gluten free and not found on PS foods ltd, that’d be great.
Anyone with Angina, what drugs taken, how its treated. Any foods that need to be kept away.
Anyone who has had a stroke: drugs, aftermath, sypmtoms, other treatments. Thanks.
Anyone who has had an episode of any sort (from Epilepsy to heart attacks), aftermath, drugs, how often administered (but also what type of diease)
ALL OF THIS WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL. THANK YOU.
