Will any antibiotic treat a urinary tract infection?
I’m trying to figure out some information about antibiotics that I don’t entirely understand. So, here’s the
Hypothetical situation: If someone has a urinary tract infection and is prescribed antibiotics for some other reason, will they kill the uti as well?
I’m not entirely sure if the information I got is accurate or not. =/
Lol it appears some people don’t know what "hypothetical" means…. Thanks for the information!
3 of 5 Diet wars – Low fat vs low carb
tinyurl.com — Enter Dr. Atkins and the low-carb diet craze currently sweeping the nation. Whereas low-fat diets like Pritikin and Ornish warned followers against eating high-fat foods like steak and eggs, Atkins followers avoided the carbohydrates that are the mainstay of a low-fat lifestyle. Not surprisingly, low-carb diets have come under attack by everyone from low-fat diet proponents to scientists and the media. In “Diet Wars,” Talbot speaks with science journalist Gary Taubes, who wrote a controversial article for The New York Times Magazine that questioned whether the food pyramid was wrong and limiting carbohydrates was the way to go. “I got crucified in a variety of publications,” Taubes tells FRONTLINE. “A Washington Post reporter went after me, the Center for Science in the Public Interest went after me because suddenly I turned around and said, ‘Maybe low-fat diets don’t work and maybe low-carbohydrate diets are the answer.’” Taubes admits to being surprised by the ferocity with which his article was attacked. “People are more polarized on this than they are in politics,” he says. “I’m stunned.” What most nutritionists and industry experts do agree on is the fact that America is facing an obesity problem of epidemic proportions. “This is the public health issue of our generation,” says Dr. James Hill, director of the University of Colorado’s Center for Human Nutrition. “[When] you see 65 percent of Americans are overweight or obese, what amazes me is that …
Molar abscess and swollen neck…?
Hay all…
I was laid off last year which caused my insurance to be gone. I had to cancel dental appointments for two back molars that were destroyed by impacted wisdom teeth which I had removed.
This made me have an abscess on each side. I have been on antibiotics since, and am scheduled to have them removed next week at the local clinic. However, for about a month now, my neck glands have been hard and tender, it hurts to swallow and although my breathing is not affected, it feels as if my throat is closing up at times. I also developed a low voice.
Im debating whether I should go to the ER tonight or just wait until the molars are out. They don’t really hurt anymore, but Im sure that doesn’t mean the infection is gone.
Its very annoying and when my neck flares up, I also feel a bit dizzy and I get aches going thru the top of my chest.
I researched Ludwigs Angina and dont feel this is it since I can’t see any redness or swelling. It just feels internal.
Infected Stye?
My boyfriend has a stye that is infected on his left eye, and the whole left side of his face hurts. He said that he went to the eye doctor and they gave him antibiotics to use and also told him to place a warm rag on it. But, he has told me that it’s getting worse. It keeps swelling up. I don’t know anything else that could help. Although, I don’t know that much about them. I’ve never had one. But if anyone would know what the problem is, please let me know. And leave some effective ways of getting rid of it. Thanks.
How many of you have survived Imflammatory Breast Cancer?
It is not in the bones, has 6 of 9 lymph nodes involved and one lobular node. Doctor first prescribed antibiotics, then she got biopsy, partial breast removal, now they finally figured out she has IBC. I hope you are doing well.
