i noticed one little spot like saturday morning in one eye. i sort of just forgot about it. monday morning it was mad itchy and all red and inflamed and i went to school anyways. monday night i put zyrtec eyedrops in for allergies cause my dad said its just allergies (even tho ive always had allergies and the INSIDE of my eye never got red before. so i knew it wasnt allergies but when i tried to tell him that he got mad at me for arguing with him.) now this morning it was worse than last night. i went to school. my friend said it was disguisting and to go to the nurse. i got really embarressed and went to the nurse. she said it looks like some kind of conjunctivitis and it was too bad to let me stay in school and sent me home. (i also had a virus 2 weeks ago, and i caught it back again thiursday, and just got rid of it sunday). Now idk what to do.. i can’t go to the doctor my mom lost her job and i have no health care insurance. she keeps bugging me to clean my room that it could be allergies and to ask dad for different eye drops. (as if another kinds gonna work.) if its allergies than why are the little veins red? why dont i have a runny nose or any other symptoms? why is it getting worse?

im pissed i wanna go to the doctors. like "oh instead of getting my job back lets just wait for something terrible to happen to my daughter so she can suffer! yipee!" >:( what do you think it could be? its in both eyes btw. and the little pink thing in the corner of your eye by your nose is all red and itchy aswell. I forget what its called lol i should know this though i learned the parts of the eyeball in like middleschool.

Okay, serious health question: just before Thanksgiving, I contracted a double pink eye infection. I went to the clinic, and they prescribed me Tobramycin eye drops, which I was instructed to take 4 times a day (2 drops in each eye per time) until my eyes cleared up. And they did completely in about three days.

Then, just around December 1st, a more mild version of pink eye, or perhaps an irritation from something, returned in my left eye. Using more of the Tobramycin drops, the redness cleared in about 1.5 days.

A little over a week later, my conjunctivitis returned once again in my right eye. By now, all of my eye drops were gone, and when I called in to get the physician’s input, she instructed me to get a refill of the same prescription. It took about 4 days to clear completely.

Again, on December 22, the swelling and redness returned in my right eye again. At this point, I threw out ALL of my makeup. I now had to go in to see the doctor again, and she prescribed me a new drop formula called NEO/POLY/GRA OP SOL, which I was to take 2 drops to eyes 4 times a day for 5-7 days. Though this had cleared up by Christmas, I hadn’t worn any makeup during the 7 day period in which I was taking the drops.

You thought I was done? Ha, not even close. I woke up this morning with (you guessed it!) PINK EYE! This time in the right one again. I don’t understand it. I cleaned and disinfected everything, I’ve been careful not to touch my eyes, I’ve thrown all my makeup out (I haven’t worn any at all for two weeks). WHY DOES IT KEEP COMING BACK???

I had the worst case of conjunctivitis when I was a kid and ever since then my eyes have never been the same. I’ve always had to use eye drops because they’d get red or itchy. But now I realized that it wasn’t all my normal symptoms, I’d start getting puss on my right eye, too much for it to be normal, so I looked up info and as it turns out I have pink eye. I don’t have health insurance so going to the doctor is out of the question. I bought "Pink Eye Remedy" from Wallgreens and it seemed to have been working because my eye stopped producing puss, and it was less red and discomforting, but today when I woke up it was red and I had puss in my eye. So all this explanation I did was to ask the question above: Is it true that when pink eye is "leaving your system" the eye starts releasing puss again? Meaning, before it starts getting better it releases all the bad stuff and THEN it gets better?
Also, any HOME REMEDIES or anything that can be bought at a Pharmacy to make this go away would be immensely appreciated!!

at least i think it’s conjunctivitis. My eyes aren’t really reddish pink but my eyes are stuck together with mucous in the morning and i get mucous coming out several times during the day.
It’s been going on for over a week now, i bought eyewash and used that twice a day but that only helped a bit.
So is this conjunctivitis or not? and how can i help get rid of it quicker?

Hey, I’m really worried. I wear contact lenses and lost my glasses earlier this year. I haven’t got round to buying a new pair because glasses are so expensive. Now I have conjunctivitis. I should have noticed earlier because about three weeks ago I was getting a mild pain when i put in my contact lenses yet would quickly fade. Only last week did my eye start to get worse. I’ve stopped wearing my contact lenses and am on both steroid drops and chloromycetin which my doctor prescribed however these are not working after three days of treatment. The steroid drops help to reduce the redness however when i wake up in the morning it just reappears, making me feel like these drops are only hiding the symptoms not actually helping! I’m kicking myself because usually when I feel any pain slight irritation from contact lenses I would have just worn my glasses but of course I didn’t have any. I’ve had conjunctivitis before yet have never had a red eye and it’s always gone away in about 24hrs. I really need for my eye to get better, in 5 days I have a formal event, with cocktail dress and everything and I’ve been looking forward to it all year. I’m scared my eye will not be better however! I do not have many bad symptoms of conjunctivits, just a red eye, no itcchiness no dryness, etc. So I don’t understand why it isn’t getting better. Has anyone had a similar problem to mine? If so how long did it take for you to get over it? I’m planning on seeing an eye doctor but I was just wanting to hear some of your thoughts! Also, I will be buying glasses sometime soon!
