Do I have a stye?

I have no idea what I have… I think it’s a stye, but I can’t be sure. My bottom left eyelid has been red and swollen for about three days, and it has become a lump on the bottom inside of my eyelid, though the swelling’s gone down a bit. I’m really worried that it won’t go away soon (It’s really embarassing to have an eye infection at work and school). Does anyone know what I have?

What should I do to help it heal?

Pink eye problem. Please, PLEASE help me!?

Okay, serious health question: just before Thanksgiving, I contracted a double pink eye infection. I went to the clinic, and they prescribed me Tobramycin eye drops, which I was instructed to take 4 times a day (2 drops in each eye per time) until my eyes cleared up. And they did completely in about three days.

Then, just around December 1st, a more mild version of pink eye, or perhaps an irritation from something, returned in my left eye. Using more of the Tobramycin drops, the redness cleared in about 1.5 days.

A little over a week later, my conjunctivitis returned once again in my right eye. By now, all of my eye drops were gone, and when I called in to get the physician’s input, she instructed me to get a refill of the same prescription. It took about 4 days to clear completely.

Again, on December 22, the swelling and redness returned in my right eye again. At this point, I threw out ALL of my makeup. I now had to go in to see the doctor again, and she prescribed me a new drop formula called NEO/POLY/GRA OP SOL, which I was to take 2 drops to eyes 4 times a day for 5-7 days. Though this had cleared up by Christmas, I hadn’t worn any makeup during the 7 day period in which I was taking the drops.

You thought I was done? Ha, not even close. I woke up this morning with (you guessed it!) PINK EYE! This time in the right one again. I don’t understand it. I cleaned and disinfected everything, I’ve been careful not to touch my eyes, I’ve thrown all my makeup out (I haven’t worn any at all for two weeks). WHY DOES IT KEEP COMING BACK???

Why am I having so many eye infections?

3 years ago I went into remission for 2 different kinds of Cancer. I had Hodgkin’s and Non-Hodgkin’s(Large B-Cell) Lymphomas. 3 years after remission I’m still sick all the time. My White blood cell count drops quite often and I’m not even going through treatment anymore. I’ll have an eye infection for a month or two(with prescription eye drops). My eye dr has tried every drop he can think of. It will go away for a few months and come back just as bad. He sent me to another eye doctor who said it was Dry Eye syndrome due to dysfunctional tear film. He prescribed Restasis. I’m only 21 years old. I’ve worn contacts for 8 years. I don’t abuse them. I change them every two weeks. I never sleep in them. I wash my case. When the infection comes back I throw away the contacts, the case, and any make up I’ve used. The infections are very painful and have recently cause very bad swelling in my eyes. I thought when the cancers were gone my health would get better. I knew it wouldn’t happen right away, but I thought that after 3 years it would. I have blood red eyes, a lot of discharge, headaches, nausea, and blurry vision. My eyes feel like sandpaper. Could anyone help me please?

Suggestions for Eye Infection for weeks?

I seem to have an eye infection in one eye. The symptoms vary from day to day and things always get worse after the sun goes down. My sleep scedual is all over the place so it’s not from being tired or rubbing that the eye gets worse, some days my eye will only be stinging a little bit all day then BOOM it suddenly swells up and is watering and all sorts of pain. ( and and and, sorry for the bad description there).

I had both eyes infected early this year on top of alot of Health problems but it took months to get into the Opt and then while going in we got a phone call a family member was dieing ( soemone was over dramatic) so they didn’t do a thorough exam.

If I scedual an appointment I probably wouldn’t see an Opt for over 12 months (or if I already have exam sced I think 10 months) and my Doctor is friends with the Opt so they automaticly say go there.

Some times it’s like knife cutting, some days it keeps sealing shut, some times Green or Yellow crust, some red swollen
Sorry for the bad Desc, but I wanted to cover the doctor won’t be helpful and I ran out of room.

When my eyes were infected earlier this year there was red and yellow on the eyes themselves and it looked like a gash was under my lens in one spot (that changed color, all my Doctor could say was I’m not an Opt go see him).

So does anyone have any reccomendations or suggestions? Past seeing the busy doctors and not being in their office for atleast 6 months if I scedual an appointment.
Lori L: My doctor won’t see me for it ( I called, they say go to the Opt). I won’t be able to see the Opt until next year (I know the whole song and dance with that and I am on a program where they would prefer you not see an Opt for like 4 years or something stupid… disablity sucks).

This is why I am asking here. Besides that they were not helpful when my eyes looked bad >.< I will just say Incompetance in this area consumes all fields, includeing medical,.. and noone will do anything even when people die.
Oh and I do not know how often my insurence is REALLY for because those things are usually wrong ( a Case Manager says one thing, the Doctor says another,.. they will both be wrong). That’s been causeing alot of problems as well ( no surprise). [I want to move] That still won’t matter because they probably won’t have a spot open until next year.
