What symptoms have you had that have let you know you require anxiety medication?

I think that I may have an anxiety disorder and in hopes of helping me make a pre-physician visit self diagnosis, I was hoping that I could hear a few stories from others who have suffered with anxiety. What kinds of symptoms did you have that made you think you might have problematic anxiety? What success have you had with any medications that your doctor has enrolled you in? Thanks in advance!!

I can’t figure out how to characterize what I’m sick with?

I used the self diagnosis tool on WebMD.com, but the didn’t have all the symptoms.

Chest pain- primarily in the left, slightly towards the center, and rarely on the right (not in breasts, above them, but below collar bone)
low temperature- 96.4 degrees F
headaches- (I do normally get headaches when there’s a weather front) but these have been constant for about a week.
trouble sleeping- I’m exhausted, but can’t nap, and I stay up later than I ever have and then have trouble falling asleep, and then wake up a couple times in the middle of the night.
nausea- especially after eating

All I got from WebMD.com was that it could be pleurisy or pericarditis, which are both nonserious and I don’t need to go to the doctor for, and another site says it has characteristics of a chest infection. WebMD also suggested it may be generalized anxiety disorder, but I don’t think that explains the chest pain.

The pain eases when I rub it, but it’s still very sharp and painful.

Any suggestions?
I’d go see a doctor if I could afford it, and if it’s what WebMD suggests it is, then I don’t need to see one.
I guess it could be anxiety disorder… my blood pressure always goes from 111/69 in the summer to 123/80 when school starts. But how to you treat that?

Facts about relief, healing, and dealing with all aspects of panic/ anxiety disorders please?

I am looking for any/all input about dealing with panic and anxiety disorders and other disorders they lead to such as agoriphobia and depression.

I need this information not only for myself, but I want to help others as well.

I began having sporadic panic attacks about 10 years ago. After about 3 years of wondering what was going on (since I was getting worse) I started to do research and assumed a self diagnosis, which was later confirmed by various doctors. My worse period (daily 24/7, was between the time I was diagnosed up to abot 3 years ago. I have been doing meditaion practice for about 8 years and Tai Chi and Yoga for about 3 years. I have had some major progress, but the sensations still come and go. I don’t really get depressed, but I certainly don’t live my life as fully as most people. I am an agoraphobic and I have been taking alprazolam for situation relief or when I feel like I’m going to lose it during a relapse. Want to write more, but out of space. Thanks
