Can fitness be achieved incrementally?
I have an idea to get in better shape. Instead of going into a big diet-binge or killing myself in the gym, I’ll start at a moderate level of both exercise and also dietary control. Then I’ll very gradually, on a weekly basis make adjustments to increase the exercise and dietary controls.
For example week 1 I might still allow myself mcDonalds 3 times a week, then week 2, I’ll only allow it 2 times aweek, etc. And on exercise side, it’s pretty straightforward–run further, heavier weights by 5% or so.
My hope is that this will allow me to make the change in a more permanent way.
What do you think? will this work?
Can I achieve the same fitness level at home as I do at a gym with a personal trainer?
I’ve been working out very hard 3 days a week, 1 hour each session with a trainer, using machines and free weights. I can’t afford to continue. In your opinion, do you believe I can get similar results at home using basic handweights and exercises?
Trying to lose weight?
I found out in July of 2005 that I had Type II Diabetes. At that point in time I was 5’4 and weighed about 250 lbs, I was going through a lot of different things in life and I always told myself I would NEVER weigh this much. After that reality check I was able to lose 25 lbs within 5 or 6 months. Now… I weight 215, I was able to start walking and I keep bouncing back from 225 to 215, it is discouraging. I’ve been walking every day or most days of the week 1.5 miles or more.. at least 3 miles or more 2 days out of the week. Do you have any advice of losing weight without strenuous exercise?
Fitness group class, 3 times a week, 1 hour hybrid class of resistance training, cardio and stretching?
Fitness group class, 3 times a week, 1 hour hybrid class of resistance training, cardio and stretching?
How much would you pay for a unique hybrid class that is done in groups of 10 on 10 identical fully equipped stations. Each class would include planned
1. strength/resistance training working major muscle groups each class with various exciting exercises
2. high intense cardio before and after workout and in between some sets (running, jumps, burpees, cycling, boxing, kickboxing)
3. stretching
Each class would be challanging but resistance could be changed based on and set according to fitness level/condition of member.
Everybody would be entitled to work out three times a week for an hour in a fixed schedule.
So when signing up people have to choose the time slots they will work out. That will guarantee them a station for those workouts.
